I’ve known some lovely women o’er the years
Had ups and downs enough to surely know
My earnest heart’s had lots of time to grow
Well-tempered, it’s known happy times and tears
My life is almost always filled with joy
However what I’m missing is a mate
I’m trying to be a patient man and wait
She doesn’t have to be Helen of Troy
I pray the Universe to me will send
A bright and sweet outdoorsy pretty lass
Who’s willing to just start off as a friend
And maybe from beyond the skies above
Will come a richer deeper magic and
We’ll grow beyond “just friends” and fall in love
~ Paul Raworth Bennett
